Kung Fu (also spelled gongfu or gung fu, from the Chinese 功夫) refers to any skill or ability developed through consistent hard work, discipline, and practice. While it is best known for its connection to martial arts, the term can also be used to describe mastery in art, writing, cooking, music, craftsmanship or anything perfected through dedication.

What is Kung Fu?

“Kung Fu is any skill achieved through patience, effort, and discipline.”

A hand-drawn and digitally painted picture of the beautiful red pavilion at Zhongue Temple with blue, green and yellow details on the wooden structure and terracotta-coloured tiles on the two-tiered roof. There are wide stone steps leading to it.

As an extension of my Shaolin practice, I draw by hand and create art pieces of the temples around my training grounds in China. I believe that meditation and mindfulness, whether through journaling, drawing or self-reflection to find inner calm, are just as important as the physical training itself.

You can take a look at my artwork in the gallery below. Perhaps in the future, I will make some limited prints available.
